With Shaken and Stirred, the delectable Lisa Michel makes her solo debut, backed by a selection of Australia’s leading jazz musicians. The decision to front her own band comes after a career spanning two decades, during which she sang jazz standards, notably as vocalist for etypejazz.

Fronting etypejazz, Lisa released six albums selling over 25,000 copies and won two Australian Music Awards for best live jazz. She accumulated a string of impressive performances, appearing in support of George Benson, Harry Connick Junior, Rod Stewart, Sir Cliff Richard, James Morrison, Vince Jones and Grace Knight. She was a soloist with the well renowned Maestro Tommy Tycho and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and on Channel Seven’s Carols by Candlelight. Lisa has toured to the US and UK, as well as around Australia, performing at many of Australia’s best-established jazz festivals.

Lisa discovered her love of singing as a child. While growing up, she sang solos at her local Baptist Church, joined choirs and nabbed the leads in musicals. She later studied jazz at the Conservatorium of Music, University of Adelaide.

Now based in Sydney Lisa continues to seduce and delight audiences with her “voice that transcends appassionato”.
